Our purpose

Navigating life and womanhood can be very challenging. There is so much thrown at us everyday from both a personal and global perspective that can be very negative and overwhelming. How do we remain authentic and true to ourselves in the process? Through our Moore Aloha events, programs and channels, we hope to share the essence of Aloha and provide valuable tools and resources to encourage young girls and women to stay on a positive, loving path. And in turn, we aim to empower these young women to spread the same kindness and respect to the community around them.

WHY WE EXIST

The mounting evidence of record levels of extreme sadness and violence teen girls experience is why we exist and why we can start to make a difference.

  • Nearly 3 in 5 teenage girls felt persistent sadness in 2021, double the rate of boys, and one in three girls seriously considered attempting suicide.

  • The rates of sadness are the highest reported in a decade, reflecting a long-brewing national tragedy only made worse by the isolation and stress of the pandemic.

  • “There was a mental health crisis before the pandemic — it just didn’t catch everyone’s attention the way it does now,” said Dr. Cori Green
